St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, San Antonio, TX

                                                                               Mission Statement

We believe that involvement in quality faith formation serves to nurture and encourage our growth in faith.  The Faith Formation Council of St Peter Prince of the Apostles Parish supports development of educational resources to meet the needs of the community.  The Council commits to actively building a parish environment where shared learning can take place for children, youth and adults.  The aim of all educational activities will be to integrate faith and life through study, reflection, prayer , service and discussion with others.

                                                                              The Sacraments

 Sacraments are ceremonies that point to what is scared, significant and important for Christians.  Members of the St. Peter Prince Apostle Catholic Church call seven of their religious ceremonies 'sacraments'. The Pastoral Center and Faith Formation Office oversee instruction for six sacraments.  The Pastoral Center oversees  Baptism, Matrimony and  Anointing of the Sick.  While, the Faith Formation Office oversees Children, Youth and Adult Faith Formation programs.  They are special occasions for experiencing God's saving presence. 

Sacramental Preparation

The sacraments which are part of the Faith Formation Program are basically some form of the sacraments of initiation and the sacrament reconciliation.  The sacramental program includes the following:

1. Preparation for First Eucharist  for children 2nd grade and older.

2.  Preparation for Reconciliation for children 4th grade and older.

3.  Preparation for Confirmation which is a 2-year program for children 4th grade and older.
